How to find out origin and age of a used piano?
how old is an eterna piano with serial number 1 25592? is it made in japan or indonesia?
How much does a used piano (in decent condition) cost?
Preferably a Kawai or second up, maybe a Yamaha? . Preferably upright, but I guess I could try to make due with a baby grand or a grand. You see, I've been a pianist my whole life, and my beautiful upright piano is soon going to be gone, as we are moving... and I was hoping to be able to get another one at some point soon afterwards. This is our moving money, or I'd never let go of it. So I'm really, really hoping someone has tips on finding a good quality yet somewhat on the cheaper side piano. Like I said, my favorite by far is Kawai maybe because I grew up on it? but I can also deal with Yamaha. I'll go to other brands if the deal is good enough as a last resort, I'm just saying that's a preference. Where would be a good place to look, besides consignment at the local piano stores? Could you seriously find good pianos from honest sellers and get the piano to you in one piece, nice and whole and un dinged, if you looked bought on eBay or Craigslist?Any helpful tips with the situation in general?

I haven't played piano much since I was a kid and I want to get back into it again. I'm going to look at an old piano tomorrow, but I don't have anyone to go with me to play it for me. What is the market value of these 2 used pianos? I'd like to purchase one of them.?
One of the pianos is a Story & Clark baby grand. Year is 1946, serial is 118932. It is being sold for $3500. The other piano is a Aerolian Wheelock baby grand, year 1926, serial number GX303998. It is being sold for $999. Both seem to be in very good condition without any obvious problems. I prefer the way the Wheelock feels and sounds over the Story & Clark, but isn't Story & Clark a better brand?
