Any Pramberger or Kawai piano owner?
I am an amateur middle piano player Mozart and Beethoven Sonatas, Bach, Joplin Broadway Musicals, etc Right now I have a very old upright piano 50 years old Jesse French ? . I am thinking of buying a new upright, so I went to a music store and checked up 3 brands Yamaha, Pramberger and Palatino ? I didn t like Yamaha bass, but treble is wonderful Palatino was really awful I can t describe it because I couldn t distinguish the notes I was playing . Finally the Pramberger was really beautiful a very well balanced sound in bass and treble, good action, excellent price and nice cabinet... but it s an unknown brand for me... I researched and found out that Pramberger belongs to Samik Korean ... looks fine, but how will it behave or perform in some years??? Furthermore here in Monterrey Mexico we don t have many brands to choose like in USA. I returned to the music store and found out that the Pramberger was dropped out and they won t have anymore Pramberger pianos there bad luck for me . I wrote direct to Samick corporation to ask where to find Prambergers in Mexico, but they haven t responded yet a week ago .This weekend I will test a Kawai K2 or K3 in another music store here in town, but some opinions say it will be hard to find spare parts because Kawai uses carbon ABS parts some people say plastic parts . That store also has Samik, also I will test it.A lot of people say Yamaha is the best brand for uprights, but I really don t like how Beethoven s Sonatas and Chopin Polonaises sound in Yamaha Pianos.What do you think?, what would you do?Thanks.
